Earlier this year, 71-73 Low Petergate was a significant concern for its structural stability due to long-term timber rot and the potential for infill stonework between the timber frame to become detached. Following an investigation and the scaffold erected to support the building, the work was identified as significant and urgently requiring attention.
Pinnacle was appointed as Main Contractor on Grade II* listed building and undertook the urgent structural repair works, replacing the decaying second-floor timber connections by introducing a new steel bracing system to ensure that the new timber sections provide structurally sound connections. Additional steel strengthening will be added to the front wall of No 73.
Essential roof repair work will be undertaken with a new render applied to the existing brick chimney.
