Skills Day
Restoration of the Albert Memorial, Saltburn, Cleveland
The Pinnacle team along with Architects Beaumont Brown Architects, were delighted to provide a skills day for local Council members, Interested parties and members of SPAB (The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings).
The day included, a tour of the Albert Memorial, with Adam Hickey (Managing Director, Pinnacle Conservation) and David Beaumont (BBA Architects) discussing the history of the memorial and the skills and techniques being used to undertake the restoration.
James Ellis (Stonemason, Pinnacle Conservation) showed the attendees his carving skills before working with them to create their own mason marks in stone for them to take away.
Valerio Caputi (Lead Conservator, Pinnacle Conservation) carried out a session on hot lime and stone conservation techniques.
The day was a great success despite the weather, thank you to everyone that attended.
